Panther Pandamonium

Hey everyone! PanPan was just this week. It is our spirit rally where the class levels battle against each other with different games and dances! There are two sections in which a class level can earn points: in participation and dance/games. This year the results were as follows for participation: 1: Freshman 2: Seniors 3: Sophomores and 4: Juniors. About 350 students attended, so that is about half the school! The officers of each class level are responsible for choreographing and performing a dance. They also create a game with class participation. The Seniors and Juniors were both great and tied for the top spot, Sophomores got second, and the Freshmen were last. PanPan kicks off the week for hall decorating and spirit week!

What fun spirit acitivities does your school do?

Holiday Drives!

Holiday Drives: Does your school bring in canned food or turkeys during the holiday season?

The Pres student body brought in $52,500 in canned food donations, baby formula, hygiene products, and thanksgiving items!  Sacred Heart had to come to Presentation multiple times to load their trucks with food!  On the last day of the drive, not only were the donation tables overflowing, but the students also brought in 613 turkeys!  That means 613 more families in San Jose were able to celebrate Thanksgiving with a delicious turkey on the table. Then our successful Penny Drive brought in $10,969 that goes towards meat and fresh vegetables and fruit to add to the food that is given out.  At the end of the school day on the Thursday of Penny Drive we announced that the students needed to bring in $9000 to match our total from last year - and they did it!

Funny Pres Traditions

Lockers: Do you have them at your school? We do, and we have a pretty cool tradition when it comes to our lockers. On our friend's birthday we cover her locker in wrapping paper, pictures of us, magazines cut-outs, inside jokes, and other little decorations to make her smile. It might seem silly, but it sure makes you feel special when it's your special day! Have you ever heard of (or done) this tradition? What do you think about it...?

Trend-spotting @ PHS

"Silly Bandz" are all the rage on campus right now. Girls can be spotted with neon-colored (and even glow-in-the-dark) rubber bands on their wrists and arms, sometimes all the way up to their elbows! Whether it's Disney, dinosaur, or phrases and acronyms like "BFF" and "LOL", Pres girls love silly bandz.

Are you and your classmates wearing silly bandz? Are friendship bracelets still in style at your school? Post a reply and share you trends with us (and your thoughts about the trends too)!
